Optimize your project for the Judges
The review team and Judges are eagerly awaiting to see what you built! As you continue to work on your project over the next few weeks, keep in mind how the judging process works.
Judging Stage One
Submissions are locked in on December 18th
and then Stage One of judging commences. The review team at Devpost and Microsoft will review your submission materials to ensure they are complete, eligible and meet a baseline level of viability to move to Stage Two. At a minimum, this means the submission includes all of the below items:
- A Project that meets the Requirements outlined in the Hackathon Rules
- A demo video under 3 minutes
- The URL to your public code repository
- Microsoft Learn username(s) for your whole team
- A completed submission form
Note: if you submit your project at least one week before the deadline, the reviewers will try hard to check for baseline eligibility in advance, and you will receive a message if any part of your submission requires revisions. So, submit early to make sure nothing gets in the way of your submission being fully eligible!
Judging Stage Two
The submissions that pass Stage One will then be sent to a Judging Panel!
Those judges will review submission materials and score your project according to each of the below judging criteria from 1 to 5 (5 being the best).
- Technological Implementation
Does the project demonstrate quality software development? Does the project leverage the GitHub Copilot with Azure tools? How is the quality of the code? - Design
Is the user experience and design of the project well thought out? Is there a balanced blend of frontend and backend in the software? - Potential Impact
How big of an impact could the project have on the developer community? How big of an impact could it have beyond the target community? - Quality of the Idea
How creative and unique is the project? Does the concept exist already? If so, how much does the project improve on it?
Please note that the judges are not required to download or test your project and will depend heavily on the presentation of your project in action within your video.
Best of luck as you continue to prepare for the judges!
